Drink what your body needs (up to six cups per day) honoring its strength and your symptoms.
Preparation + Use
This blend is meant to be slow medicine. A ritual of simmering, steeping, and honoring the herbs’ full expression.
In a stainless steel pot or cast iron kettle, combine 200 ounces of water with 2 ounces each of licorice root, Chinese skullcap, Japanese knotweed, dan shen, and ginger root.
Bring to a gentle simmer, cover, and allow to slow boil for 90 minutes. Add water back as needed to maintain your starting level.
When finished, turn off the heat and add
– (1 cup yarrow) for acute illness such as COVID or Flu
– (1/4 cup yarrow) for chronic illness such as autoimmune disorders or Lyme.
Cover again and allow the infusion to steep for several hours before straining.
Once cooled, store in glass and refrigerate for up to 5 days.
When reheating (if you prefer your tea warm), do so slowly, on the lowest heat, for as long as needed, to preserve the nutrients and energetic resonance of the medicine.
If you prefer to brew by the cup rather than by the batch, use 1 ounce of roots, bark, or berries per 20 ounces of water, and ½ ounce of leaves or flowers per 20 ounces of water.
For Acute Illness (short-term, 4–6 cups/day):
When your body is fighting a temporary infection or acute flare-up, this formula is crafted to support gentle detoxification, warmth, and immune response. The full 1 cup of yarrow encourages mild diaphoresis (sweating) to help release heat and support the body’s natural healing processes. Sip 4–6 cups per day, simmered as directed, to support recovery.
For Long-Term Support (autoimmunity, Lyme, chronic conditions, 2–3 cups/day):
For ongoing support, we want to nourish and rebalance without overstimulating the body. In this case, the yarrow is reduced to 1/4 cup, providing gentle warmth without provoking profuse sweating. The other herbs in the blend work together to support immune modulation, circulation, and detoxification over time. Sip 2–3 cups per day, prepared as a long simmer or in smaller batches, to support steady, sustainable wellness.
